A former Senator representing Rivers South East senatorial district, Magnus Abe has dumped the ruling all progressive Congress APC to pursue his gubernatorial ambition under the umbrella of another party.
Abe made the disclosure in a letter seen by Truthlive.net and addressed to APC’s National Chairman, Adamu Abdullahi.
The senator who gave the reason for his decision said it is not unconnected with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s seeming unwillingness to negotiate with me since he expects me to remain in the APC.
Part his resignation letter reads: “I wish to tender my resignation of membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
“My decision to quit is not unconnected with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s seeming unwillingness to negotiate with me since he expects me to remain in the APC.Hence my resolve to seek alternative platform to actualize my Gubernatorial Ambition in Rivers State.”
He added: “I feel it is time to move on with my Ambition, having served this country as Lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly, SSG of Rivers State, and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Rivers lawmaker appreciated the presidential flag-bearer of APC as well as his teaming supporters and colleagues who also decamped from APC for the opportunity to serve.
“In coming days I shall tell Nigerians my next plan of action.” he concluded.
