A man simply identified as Emmanuel by name is reported to have been burnt to death right in his own car car after purchasing a few liters of fuel, Truthlive.net has been told.
The incident happened late Wednesday at about 8.44 PM at the main gate of the Softfort Table Water, situated at Block 2, Obanisuwa Egbejila, along Airport Road, in Ilorin Kwara State.
The victim was in a premacy car with Reg. No: LSR966GD and was said to have suddenly caught fire and burnt the driver to death.
According to the report, the 37 year old victim was coming back from a filling station and fully rolled up inside the car forgotten that he carried load of three gallons of 30 liters of petrol. On getting to the factory gate, the petrol suddenly exploded and thereby causing the fire incident.
However, firemen were able to retrieve the casualty from the motorcar on time and gave the body to the manager of the water factory named Mr. Surajudeen who is the victim’s boss.
Fire officers say the incident happened because lack of proper ventilation in the car.
The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, sympathized with the family of the victim for the loss and also urged the general public to take safety practice as very paramount especially whenever they were performing their day-to-day activities.
