Elon Musk has filed countersuit against Twitter after the tech giant sued him to keep him to his deal of $44bn takeover deal.

The Chancery Court in the state of Delaware revealed in a notice on Friday that the Tesla boss has put up a legal defence suit against Twitter’s ground that he must stay true to the contract he signed in April to complete the deal.

Musk had announced on 8th July that he was “terminating” agreement with Twitter as he accused the firm of misleading him regarding its tally of spam and fake accounts.

Days after, Twitter sued Elon Musk and labelled the claims of spam and fake accounts as mental confusion and distraction to shy away from closing the deal merger contract at $54.20 per share.

Aljazeera reports that the social media giant accused the billionaire of seeking huge amounts of data that are irrelevant to the main issue in the case: whether he had violated the deal contract.
