The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Edo Central Senatorial hopeful in the 2023 general election, Chief Dr. Mike Ozeigbe Onolememen CON, has explained details of his meeting with the Honourable Minister of Works, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN on Friday, which were mainly on the state of federal roads in Edo state.
Onolememen who was the egghead of the ministry for a period of four years expressed confidence that the roads currently at their worst state would soon start to receive attention if the level of discussion he had with the former Lagos state governor is to be considered, he told truthlive.net in a chat
He said: “I visited the Honorable Minister of Works & Housing, H.E., Babatunde Fashola, SAN, today, to rub minds on challenges in the road sector, especially the state of the North-South arterial Route A2, transversing through Warri-Benin-Ekpoma-Ewu-Agbede, and the hardships encountered by motorists; The Honorable Minister Fashola assured that appropriate action will be taken to make the road motorable and safe for motorists who ply the highway.”
“You will agree with me that these roads are in a bad state today, as a former minister of works and of course, Edo is my state and I had to do everything within my powers to find solutions to those roads and meeting with the minister was one of those steps and I am hopeful those corridors will begin to receive the attention they deserve in no time, based on our discussion and the assurances he gave me”.
