As the who is who in Nigerian politics continues transversely between their states and Rivers State seeking the support of the governor of Rivers State, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike in their respective political ambitions, another big fish is scheduled to visit within the next week.

The next political heavyweight to be taking his political trade to the garden city seeking the endorsement of the governor also known as Mr. Projects is Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election.

A credible source close to Governor Wike who confirmed the planned meeting to truthlive.net via a telephone conversation said the outcome of the meeting will be very crucial in deciding the political direction Mr. Wike will be threading in 2023.

The source who pleaded anonymity further emphasized that Mr. Wike had always stood his ground in championing the call for power to shift back to the South when the President Buhari-led administration elapsed.

According to the source, there are feelings that Atiku’s nonchalant attitude and unwillingness to put an end to the row between him and Wike, is an added advantage for the Rivers state governor to listen to the offers from Peter Obi who seems to be the chosen candidate of the vast majority of the Nigerian electorate.

It would be recalled that different Socio-cultural groups like the Adenifere, Ohanze Ndi’gbo, Middlebelt forum, South-South forum, and many other unions and associations across the country have thrown their weight behind the candidature of Mr. Obi who also enjoys a lot of international support.

Many are of the opinion that if Mr. Atiku who is seen as one of the most experienced active politicians today in Nigeria is unwilling and lacks the skills and capacity to put to an end internal wrangling with his political party, why should Nigerians trust him with a larger mandate or responsibility of securing and united Nigeria that is at her worst situation right now since 1960? Only time can tell…
