The decision of the supreme court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria on Wednesday to accept the motion of supplementary service raised by the legal team of the Edo state Legacy PDP has been seen by many as the right step in the direction which basically gave the Chief Dan Orbih-led faction of the party some respite.

The Supreme Court today ordered that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, who has been avoiding service by Supreme Court bailiffs, be served by alternate means ( ie placing the notice on the gate or wall of his office).

While adjourning the case to Thursday, September 22nd for hearing and subsequent date for judgment, the court stated that whether Ayu appears or not, the Supreme Court will hear the matter on September 22nd and set a date for judgment which our investigation revealed that it must be before September 30th, 2022.

Truthlive.net is aware that Ayu, who has been taking sides in the crises, wanted the 60-day period to expire by September 24th, which is why he was dodging service, but all his antics have come to an end with the new court ruling.

According to this newspaper, his recent travel out of Nigeria could be related to his refusal to acknowledge the court’s invitation. But a chieftain of the Party, Chief Tony Lawani informed our correspondent that Ayu`s departure from the country has not impeded the decision as the office is not in a vacuum, stating that he legally handed over the function of the office to his deputy.

He said: “In the first place, why has Ayu been avoiding the supreme court bailiff? Did he earnestly think we were going to fold our hands and watch him destroy the party we suffered to build in the state?’

“If they actually have a good case, why are they running away from receiving the notice from the supreme court?

“This simply means that Ayu has been deceiving the Edo State governor and his few cohorts and the end has come for them and their deceits, the PDP leader asserted”.
