In fulfillment of their threat, students under the umbrella of the National Association of Nigerian (NANS) stormed the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos in protest against the lingering strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The students stormed the airport in their numbers welding placards and banners with different inscriptions in the early hours of Monday, September 19, 2022.

Recall that the NANS had vowed to ground activities at the airport on Monday if the federal government fails to meet the demand of ASUU to enable them call off the strike.

In a video seen by Truthlive.net, the students were seen dancing around as they sing solidarity songs.

The South-West Coordinator of NANS, Adegboye Olatununji who spoke to newsmen briefly said security agencies had been mobilised to the scene, but they were undaunted.

“Yeah, they mobilised heavy security, but we’re undaunted. We’re there on standby,” he said.

Despite the rain, the students were undeterred.
