The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has declared 24hours curfew begining from 12am on Thursday 29 to Friday 30 September, 2022 amid security threats in the state.
The curfew which covers Obazagbon to Ogheghe axis of Irhirhi-Arogba-Obazagbon-Ogheghe road is meant to enable the government conduct security operations in the area.
In a statement signed by Secretary to the state government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., members of the communities are warned to “steer off the Obazagbon to Ogheghe axis of the road during the curfew so as not to endanger themselves.
Residents were also advised to stay indoors while motorists and pedestrians were urged to use alternative routes as the government embark on the security exercise.
The statement listed the affected areas to include: from Obazagbon junction to Ogheghe junction on the Irhirhi-Arogba-Obazagbon-Ogheghe road and environs; from Ogheghe road up to Ogba river and environs.
Others are: the road connecting Okoroma junction on the Irhirhi road to Amagba and environs; from Amagba junction to Ogba river on the Ogheghe-Ogbagie road linked to Sapele road and environs.
Also, government warned that anyone found loitering in the area during the curfew would be arrested.
