Following the fear of attack after terrorists left a letter indicating they would soon launch an attack on the Nigerian Law school, the Nigerian Body of Benchers has changed the venue of the Call to Bar Ceremony for successful aspirants scheduled for Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
Recall that armed men suspected to be terrorists had attacked and killed some officers of the presidential guard along Bwari road in Abuja the nation’s capital where the Law school is located.
The Nigerian Body of Benchers is a professional body concerned with the admission of prospective student into the Nigerian Law School.
Earlier, the event was planned to hold on the premises of the Nigerian Law School in Bwari, but it has been postponed over the recent insecurity in the area.
According to secretary of the Bench of Benchers, Daniel Tela, the body decided to relocate the venue of the ceremony to the Body of Benchers’ permanent site in Jabi, FCT after a meeting of it’s executives on Monday.
The event is exclusively for aspirants. Family members and well-wishers would not be allowed to be part of the programme, he added.
It was hinted that terrorists are planning to attack the Nigerian Law School in Abuja, the Central Mosque, other worship centres and security formations in the FCT.
Following the security threats, the Federal Ministry of Education directed that the Federal Government College, Kwali, in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT should be shut down immediately.
This is as security authorities suspected security breach on Sheda and Lambata villages and suburbs of Kwali Area Council which also threatened FGC Kwali.
