Again, C’River Govt Bans Motorcycle In Calabar Metropolis

The Cross River State Government has again restated that the total ban on the use of Motorcycles along major highways and some roads in the Calabar Metropolis is still in force.

The State Security Adviser,Major General O..U Obono (Rtd) In a statement stated this in Calabar.

Signed by the Commissioner for Information Hon. Erasmus Ekpang, cautioned Motorcycle Riders in Calabar to restrict their movements to designated routes.

Obono in the statement warned that defualters shall be made to face the full wrath of the Law.

The SSA said this reminder has become very imperative in view of the flagrant disobedience to the law by some Motorcycle operators in the Calabar Metropolis.

He alleged that criminal elements have in recent times resorted to using Motorcycles to rob innocent citizens.

Meanwhile, Security Operatives on essential duties using Motorcycles have been warned to be properly dressed in their uniforms to avoid being embarrassed while on duty.

Also, all concerned have been directed to obey the rules guiding motorcycle operations in Calabar metropolis.

Accordingly, defaulter shall be apprehended and their Motorcycles impounded.

Furthermore, Gen Obono warned defaulters to desist from thronging the State Security Adviser’s Office to solicit for the release of impounded motorcycles.

He said henceforth, the practice shall not be tolerated under any guise.
