NIGERIA, BENIN CITY – Agba Grammar School, Uromi, defeated Esan Model Grammar School 3–0 on Wednesday to qualify for the final of the ongoing ULMI Secondary School Football Tournament.
In another semi-final encounter, Buddy Group of Schools edged Idumoza Grammar School, Uromi, 6–5 through penalty kicks after a thrilling draw in regulation time.
With both victories, Agba Grammar School and Buddy Group of Schools, longstanding football rivals, will clash in the tournament’s male category final on December 26 to determine who takes home the coveted trophy and star prize.
Speaking after the matches, one of the tournament organizers told Truth Live News that the competition has revealed exceptional young talents across Uromi. “The passion and discipline displayed by these students show that football can be a tool for education and character development,” he said.

A teacher from Idumoza Grammar School commended the organizers for maintaining fairness and sportsmanship. He noted that “beyond competition, this event promotes unity among schools and gives students a sense of purpose.”
Meanwhile, Idumoza Secondary School and Esan Model Grammar School will contest for third place in what promises to be another entertaining fixture.
