A’Ibom Gov. Renames Dakkada Towers In Honour Of Udom Emmanuel

The popular 21-Storey Business Complex “Dakkada Towers” in Akwa Ibom state has been renamed “Udom Emmanuel Towers.”

Governor Umo Bassey Eno, announced the new name during the Anniversary, Thanksgiving and Book Presentation Service at the State International Worship Center, Uyo.

He said the Tower should be renamed Udom Emmanuel Towers, for the works he has done in the State.

The Chief Press Secretary Ekerete Udoh in a Facebook post on Sunday said the Governor had also reserved his scorecard for his anniversary speech on the 29th of May.

Excited by the degree of his political godfather’s achievements he said: “You called it Dakkada Towers, but by the authority conferred on me as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, “I rename this 21 storey edifice, Udom Emmanuel Towers, for the works you have done in our State.”

On the state International Worship Center in Uyo, pastor Eno commended predecessor for building a standard worship center in the State.

“The altar represents the quality of vision God usually revealed to his predecessor in office,” he said.

“It was conceived, started and delivered by my political father, the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

“We have formally asked him and his dear wife to honour us with their presence as we commission Airport Road.”

Just as Governor Eno paying glowing tributes to his predecessor for his legacies, Mr Udom Emmanuel also commended him for a successful one year in office.

He said his success in the elections was one of his achievements as past Governor.

Meanwhile, Mr Emmanuel was accompanied to the event by his wife, Dr (Mrs) Martha Emmanuel.

He noted it was the first time in the region, for an ordained Pastor to preside over the affairs of a state as Governor.

According to him, God has put in his heart, the same love he has for him.

Thus he said: “I will share in your burden, I will share in your challenges, I will share in your trying times.”

Again, “I know you call me political father, but I will never be the kind of father who will attempt to press your neck.” Emmanuel assured.

Also, he promised to always pray for the success of the Governor, as not doing so, amounts to an abomination before God.

Mr. Emmanuel was optimistic that by God’s grace his successor will reign for eight years.

“There is a tradition in Akwa Ibom, every other person served eight years, you will never be an exception,” he prayed.

“Thank you so much because so far so good, you have not let us down”, Mr Emmanuel concluded.

Truth Live News learned that the Minister of Petroleum(Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, attended the event.

He announced a foundation laying ceremony for a logistic solution hub at Ibaka in Mbo Local Government Area.

The anniversary thanksgiving featured book launch titled: “Umo Eno: and it came to pass”, written by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Anietie Usen.

The book chronicled the processes that led to the emergence of Pastor Eno as Governor.

Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN chaired the occasion while Chief Assam Assam, SAN presented the book.
