A’Ibom Gov. Visits Oku Ibom Ibibio, Harps On Unity

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has appealed for unity, peace and brotherhood amongst the ethnic nationalities.

He made the appeal on Friday when he visited the President General, Supreme Council of Akwa Ibom Traditional Rulers and Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Eminence, Ntenyin, Dr. Solomon Etuk, JP at his Palace in Ikot Ukobo, Nsit Ubium LGA.

Additionally, the governor in the meeting told the monarch that he is from the Ibibio Nation, and he is the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, hence,his desire for unity of all ethnic groups across the State.

However, he pointed out that “Akwa Ibom must continue to remain a united State, where what affects one group affects us all.”

Also, he said the unity and peace of the State is beyond ethnic sentiments or biases

The Governor therefore, assured all citizens that the state will continue to enjoy peace, unity and growth as detailed in the Arise Agenda.

Nevertheless, he thanked the leaders of major socio-cultural organizations who attended the meeting including everyone for their support and prayers during the election and the litigation process.

Meanwhile, the Oku Ibom Ibibio, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Etuk appreciated the Governor for the visit and his commitment to sustaining peace and unity in the State.

He expressed gratitude to God for making Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor after the judgement of the Supreme Court.

Also, he prayed God to grant him the desire to sustain the peace, unity and development in the State.
