A’Ibom Lawmaker Ekpo Loses Wife, Gov. Eno Assures Family Of Govt Support

Pastor Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom state has promised the Member Representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Obong Paul Ekpo, and family of State Governmment support over the demise of his wife late Mrs. Vivian Paul Ekpo.

Vivian Ekpo, aged 55, whose funeral service held on Friday with the governor and his entourage in attendance was buried in Etinan LGA, south south Nigeria.

The Governor, In a condolence message he personally delivered during the funeral ceremony at Comprehensive Secondary School Ground, Nkana-Iman, Etinan, he said “We promise you that in this hour of pain and bereavement, you and your family will never walk alone.”

He said late Mrs. Vivian Ekpo who had been educationist and evangelist who won souls to expand the kingdom of God, impacted lives and was remained a pillar of support to her husband through his strides in public service.

“I’m particularly delighted that she fulfilled her livelong dream of establishing a school. So even though her life was short, it was very very impactful,” Eno said.

“She was a moulder of minds and character, an educationist par excellence, a winner of souls in the vineyard of the Lord and an ever supportive spouse who kept her home front tight while the husband was out there earning his strides as Obong Paul Politics Ekpo.”

While consoling the family over the loss, he urged the bereaved family to take consolation in the indelible marks Vivian has made in her relatively short and fulfilled life as echoed by many that she touched while alive.

The media unit of the government house reported that the Senate President, Obong Godswill Obot Akpabio, represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Saviour Enyiekere, presented a condolence message.

It said Akpabio acknowledged Late Madam Vivian Ekpo’s motherly disposition towards all that came her way saying she will be remembered for her support base to husband and the society at large.

The president of senate prayed for a peaceful repose of the deceased soul and consolation for the bereaved family.

Others who spoke at the funeral were the Akwa Ibom State Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Pastor John Adelekan, who preached on the topic, “Ending Your Journey in Peace and Rest” from Psalm 37:57, and the Chief mourner, Obong Paul Ekpo, who thanked the state governor,federal lawmakers, government functionaries, political class, church, friends and sympathizers for their support.
