A law firm, Mbakwe & Co (Graceville Chambers), has petitioned the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) over alleged visa fraud perpetrated by a Dubai-based Nigerian, Mrs. Victoria Onu Uyigianshi.

The petition, dated March 11th, 2025, accused Uyigianshi of failing to deliver Canada Work visas to four individuals after receiving ₦2.8 million (approximately $7,700 USD).

The victims, Paschal Odoemena, Emmanuel Opara, Henry Ugwu, and Chinedu Onuiri, claimed they paid Uyigianshi ₦700,000 each for the visas, but she failed to deliver and refused to return their international passports.

The petition further alleged that Uyigianshi, along with her accomplices, Ishaya Bawa and Yusuf Mohammed, conspired to defraud the victims.

Uyigianshi’s lawyer responded, stating that the delays in securing the visas were due to factors beyond their control and that they were committed to fulfilling their obligations.

However, the victims’ lawyer argued that Uyigianshi’s actions constituted a breach of trust, cheating, and fraud.

The petition urged the NIDCOM Chairperson, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, to intervene and cause a detailed investigation into the matter.
