The Yucateco Boxing promotion would make an excellent partner for promotion of amateur boxing competition in Nigeria. Nigeria Minister of Sports Development announced.
Sen John Owan Enoh observed that Yucateco has shown immense dedication to the promotion of amateur boxing competition in the country.
Via his Facebook page Sen Enoh added “Not only have they created opportunities for sportsmen, they have also engaged sports administrators.”
“Thereby creating a system that engages Nigerians significantly in boxing across Nigeria,” said the Minister.
Moreover, he heartily commended the CEO of Yucateco Mr Omolei Y. Imadu for incentivizing the Yucateco boxing tournament heavily.
“We need more partnerships of this nature. Those who seek to run sports at the National level must have more than passion.”
For instance, “they must commit to go all out for the growth of grassroots sports development,” he warned.
Accordingly, the federal government aimed to tap into the vast talent pool within the nation and provide avenues for aspiring boxers to excel on both national and international platforms.
The partnership expected to yield a range of initiatives highlighted them to include nurturing talent, organizing competitions, and providing necessary support structures for athletes across Nigeria.
Nevertheless, “Nigeria has a rich history in boxing, and it’s time for us to reclaim our position on the global stage.”
The Minister said that Nigeria can provide consistent opportunities for their boxers to hone their skills, compete at a high level, and ultimately strive for Olympic glory.
“By leveraging the expertise and resources of YBP, the Ministry will foster a thriving boxing ecosystem that empowers athletes,” Enoh said.
Strategic partnerships with Yucateco Boxing Promotion, will contribute to the overall development of sports in the country.
Therefore , “I thank Mr. Omolei Imadu and we are elated with the partnership with Yucateco Boxing Promotion,” the Minister concluded.
