Ambassador Zainab Mohammed, The Founder of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently addressed a gathering at the official launch of Afridu-Nigeria, a platform dedicated to fostering global partnerships for the massive return of African descendants in the diaspora for the naturalization and economic development of the continent.
The theme of the event, “Fostering Global Partnership for the Massive Return of African Descendants in Diaspora for Naturalization and Economic Development of the Continent,” set the stage for an inspiring message.
Ambassador Zainab Mohammed’s speech began with a powerful statement, “The Africa we want starts right here with each and every one of us.” Her words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the collective responsibility of Africans to shape the continent’s future.
Ambassador Mohammed shared her personal journey, highlighting that she was once a diasporan who made the life-changing decision to return home to Nigeria 12 years ago. She expressed that this decision proved to be one of the best she had ever made, a testament to the opportunities and potential in Africa.
She invoked the famous adage, “When Nigeria sneezes, Africa catches cold,” emphasizing the pivotal role Nigeria plays on the continent. This served as a reminder of the interconnectedness of African nations and the significance of Nigeria’s actions.
Ambassador Mohammed extended her gratitude to the Afridu President Professor ArchBishop: Chidiebere Anelechi Ogbu , the Royal fathers, especially His Majesty Ditte spiff, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and all delegates and emissaries from the diaspora for their unwavering support.
She urged the government and stakeholders to create clear pathways for the diaspora to seamlessly integrate into the country, bringing in foreign direct investment (FDI), goodwill, and their wealth of global experience and expertise.
In her closing remarks, Ambassador Zainab Mohammed’s words resonated, encapsulating the hope, unity, and determination of Africans to work together in realizing a brighter future for the continent through Afridu-Nigeria’s mission.
