“I promised to appoint a black woman to the supreme court, and that’s exactly what I did. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is uniquely accomplished, and one of our nation’s top legal minds.”Biden said.
While the commentators condemned the U.S leader for, in their view, why making gender and race a matter for job appointment, some regard his remarks as pure racist and sexist.
In fact, the commentators who are outraged over the U.S administration policy in term of appointment of cabinet members found themselves not in agreement on the point.
But David Choi by name, said even if he was making a point showing diversity, the language he used did not feel right.
Choi said personally, it would make him feel uncomfortable because they are all Americans.
“I have a dream that my little four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. ” Said one of the commentators who quoted Martin Luther King Jr.
In his words, Ribe Mjod, question “so why exactly didn’t you promised to appoint a skilled and fulfilled person to this position despite a person’s skin color and gender?
Consequently, such words of criticism were unexpected.
