Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim attributed his team’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday to the simple fact that “they scored and we didn’t.”

James Maddison’s first-half goal proved to be the decisive factor in the match.

Maddison, returning from injury, capitalized on a rebound to score the only goal of the game.

The loss saw Manchester United drop to 15th place in the Premier League table, just two positions above the relegation zone.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Amorim lamented his team’s inability to score.

“In the end, they scored, we didn’t.

“That was the big difference in the game,” he said.

Amorim acknowledged that his team created chances but failed to capitalize on them.
