The Executive Director, Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ), Rev. David Ugolor, has asked the federal government to compensate the families of those who lost their relatives in the October 1st Koko fuel tanker fire explosion where several lives were lost.
He made the call while speaking at the scene of the incident in Koko, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Ugolor lamented that since the incident happened, no top government officials have visited the scene.
The human rights activist said beside the compensation to be paid to the deceased families, the federal government should give the dead a befitting burial.
He also decried that the way and manner those burnt by the inferno were buried by the bank of the river.
He added that he is going to drag the federal government to court if it fails to compensate the families of the deceased, fix the failed portions of the road which is the cause of the accident.
