Arewa Youths Insist On Probe Of NNPC Non-Remittances To CBN

Arewa Consulative Youths Movement (ACYM) has reinstated its resolve to further mount pressure on President Mohammadu Buhari to start an inquest into why the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, have failed to make remittances into the federation account domiciled at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

It made this point while also distancing itself from an a recent press releases purportedly signed by the group’s leader to have dropped the said demand.

The Arewa Movement denied a purported statement in circulation, where it disassociated itself from an earlier statement by it calling on President Buhari to investigate NNPC over the shortfall.

ACYM president, Mallam Kabiru Yusuf, noted that the later publication was at the behest of an impostor.

“The said press statement which was signed by a rented impostor Mr Kabiru Yusuf was in line with the desperate but failed move by the NNPC and its cohorts to cover the monumental fraud and the exposed non remittance of oil earnings by the NNPC to CBN.

“We are aware of desperste attempts by certain persons working for NNPC to force the fake statement on our highly respected media to see same as though it emanated from the authentic President of ACYM, Kabiru Yusuf .

“And for the avoidance of doubt, the ACYM still stand by its Tuesday statement signed by kabiru Yusuf, asking President Buhari to probe the subject matter,” his statement read.
