Armed Bandits Strike Military Camp, Invade Town in Katsina

A heavily armed gang of bandits, equipped with advanced weapons such as AK-47 rifles, launched an attack on a joint military camp in Nahuta village, Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina.

The assault occurred around 11:30 pm on Sunday, January 14, according to Channels TV.

A security source from the camp provided details of the incident on Monday, confirming that the bandits, armed with sophisticated weaponry, damaged vehicles and valuables during the attack. Although no lives were lost, the personnel at the camp successfully repelled the assailants despite being outnumbered.

Following the attack on the military camp, the bandits proceeded to invade Nahuta town, where they raided shops, broke into houses, and looted properties and domestic animals, with the estimated value of the stolen items reaching millions of naira.

As of the current report, security agencies have not issued an official statement regarding this recent bandit attack in the North-Western state.
