The Deputy Governor of Cross River State in the south south Nigeria Rt Hon Peter Odey has received the Nigerian Army Commander of 13 Brigade Major General E. I. Okoro at the Government House, Calabar.
Maj Gen. E. I. Okoro promoted alongside 46 Brigadier Generals to Major Generals visited the Deputy Governor to notify him of his elevation.
Hon Odey congratulated him and wished him success in all his endeavours.
In a warmth handshake with him, the deputy governor told Maj Gen. Okoro, that his new status was clearly the direct result of professionalism and not an accident of luck.
“Indeed, you stand out as the proverbial goldfish that cannot be hidden,” he said.
He urged him to bring his zest and unparalleled expertise to bear in combating emerging security challenges.
After he congratulated him, he reiterated the state government’s continued support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
