Residents of Edo State, have raised the alarm over the presence of articulated vehicles plying the city roads.
One of the driver who preferred anonymity said that the presence of the articulated vehicles on the streets and major roads within the city centre is now a nightmare to the residents of the state.
He said few days ago, a truck failed break at the Ikpoba Hill axis of the state and out of fear, the driver of the truck tried to run out of the truck and unfortunately for him, he fell on the pavement and was ran over by the truck and died immediately.
The driver said that the presence of the trucks in the major city is as result of the failed federal government roads.
He said this has created a lot of tension in the minds of the citizens of the state as they (trucks) compete with other road users and commercial buses.
He said the federal government can help check and reduce the presence of these articulated vehicles by fixing all the federal government failed federal roads.
Also speaking, Kadiri Christopher, said that the rate at which the articulated trucks are breaking down on the streets and city roads are causing severe gridlocks on the roads and making commuters waste a lot of man hours on the roads.
He said that a truck, in a bid to avert a major accident along the New Lagos road axis, ran into a storey building, crushing a parked car in the process, though there was no casualty.
Kadiri further called on the federal government to help fix the federal roads so that the trucks avoiding those bad roads can no longer find their way to the city roads again.
