Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the September Governorship Election in Edo State, has expressed deep shock and condemnation following the kidnapping of the party’s chairman in the state, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, on Friday night.
In a statement personally signed by Dr. Ighodalo on Sunday, he conveyed his profound sympathy to the family of the abducted chairman and urged security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure his safe rescue and return.
“The news of the kidnapping of the Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, on Friday night, was extremely shocking and distressing,” Dr. Ighodalo expressed.
He continued, “I strongly condemn this dastardly act, and my heart goes out to the Aziegbemi family at this very trying time. I join the family in offering fervent prayers for his safe return.”
Dr. Ighodalo reiterated the importance of continuous efforts by security agencies in investigating the matter and working tirelessly for the safe release of the abducted chairman.
“I also urge the security agencies to continue to spare no effort in investigating the matter and working assiduously for our dear party chairman’s safe release,” Ighodalo concluded.
