In anticipation of the forthcoming 2024 gubernatorial election, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, has expressed his confidence in bridging the gap in the ongoing feud with the embattled Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu.

Since losing out on the PDP governorship candidacy ticket to Ighodalo in the primary election, Shaibu has adamantly refused to accept defeat, leading to tensions within the party.

During a live Questions and Answers session hosted by Governor’s Cousin on Thursday evening, which was meticulously monitored by Truth Live News, Dr. Asue Ighodalo addressed concerns regarding the strained relationship between him and Philip Shaibu, particularly emphasizing the importance of unity within the PDP family.

Responding to inquiries from Edo indigenes in the diaspora on how to reconcile differences and maintain unity within the PDP, Ighodalo stressed the familial bond shared within the party despite occasional misunderstandings.

Ighodalo pointed out the necessity for both parties involved in the conflict to acknowledge their mistakes, extend forgiveness, and initiate reconciliation efforts.

“Honestly, we are one family in PDP, and you know families sometimes experience misunderstandings. But the most important thing is addressing such misunderstandings. This can only be achieved when the conflicting parties acknowledge their mistakes and seek forgiveness for their wrongdoings,” stated Ighodalo.

He further emphasized the collective resolve of the PDP family to overcome differences and work together seamlessly towards a common goal. “We are one family, and we must come together. In fact, we are already making strides to reconcile our differences so that we can work together again, by God’s grace,” he affirmed.
