There is heavy presence of security operatives in the Ikeja axis of Lagos over the protest organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in solidarity with the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU).
ASUU had shut all public universities and commenced its ongoing strike on February 14, after the FG failed to meet some of its demands.
The nationwide protest organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress is in solidarity with ASUU over the lingering strike.
The Nigeria Labour Congress had on Monday directed workers in state capitals and Abuja to join the protest on July 26th and 27th 2022.
The police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have deployed personnel to help keep the protest in check and avoid it been hijacked by thugs.
Vehicular movements towards the protest venue have been disrupted.
