At Last! King Sunny Ade’s Speaks, Debunks Rumour Of Being Kidnapped

Nigerian Juju icon, Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), has dismissed the rumours making the rounds that he has been kidnapped.

The Renowned Juju singer, fondly called King Sunny Ade (KSA), 78, in a two minutes and nine seconds video, debunked the rumour that he was kidnapped.

KSA who spoke in both in Yoruba and English language, thanked Nigerians all over the world for their show of love.

He said he has been receiving calls all over the world from concerned citizens asking him if he was kidnapped.

The Juju musical maestro said he had a show where he performed last week Saturday and that he is currently on his way too to perform in a function, therefore, there was no time he was kidnapped.

According to him “I have to thank the whole world, you my fans, who up till 70 something hours ago and up till now, the whole world have been calling me.

” I have to thank God for the love. I am on my way to the show now. I have been in the show at Lekki, last week Saturday.

” I wondered why people say I have been kidnapped. Nobody kidnapped me.

“I thank God and I thank the whole nation, Nigeria. I thank the president of this great nation, Nigeria. I thank everybody for their concern”

Truth Live News Media earlier reported that On April 28, 2025, a media personality identified as @Akanbitheduke on Instagram took to his page to amplify King Sunny Ade’s daughter’s cry for help about her father’s safety.

In a lengthy post, he explained how he had personally tried to contact him before a friend reached out to him on the daughter’s behalf over concerns about King Sunny Ade.

According to Akanbi, all efforts of KSA’s close allies to reach him had proved abortive.

The alarm of the kidnap of the Juju musical legend was however debunked by one of his sons, Dayo Adegeye who doubles as his manager.

The manager dismissed the rumour, describing it as a “malicious” attempt to tarnish the legendary musician’s image.

According to him, “We want to assure the public that King Sunny Ade is safe and sound.

“There is no truth to the kidnapping rumour, and we are taking appropriate steps to address the situation and identify those responsible for spreading this false information.”

Dayo reassured fans and well-wishers that “the King of World Beats, King Sunny Ade, is not abducted or kidnapped by anyone.

“The Adegeye family and King Sunny Ade’s team are working diligently to put an end to the rumour and protect his reputation.

“The public can rest assured that King Sunny Ade is in good health and spirits, and his focus remains on his music and legacy”, Dayo said.
