Recent painting on Twitter of former vice president, Abubakar Atiku, striking a ‘Jesus’ poise in the midst of a mortley of people, reminiscent of iconic religious painting of Jesus Christ has sparked angry online responses with many recalling how the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, controversially deleted a tweet on his handle that condemed the killing of Deborah, student in Sokoto by irrate mob who accused her of blasphemy, last year.

“Is this not blasphemous?

“Why is Atiku’s Campaign making fun of Christianity,” asked one of the angry responses online over the painting.

For many responders to the painting, the former VP should know better after the backlash that happened after he deleted a post that condemned the killing of Deborah, which many interpreted as fear of incurring the wrath of the Muslim North.

“Same man that deleted his tweet about Deborah.. Christianity has really suffered in the last eight years…Look at how Atiku Abubakar is mocking Christianity…..it’s so shameful ,” tweeted @IkukuomaC

“Atiku Campaign has started making caricature of Jesus Christ,” said @UchePOkoye.
