Benin DisCo Collaborates Security Agencies To Boost Service Delivery To Franchise States

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) Plc, Mr Deolu Ijose has collaborated with the security agencies in the state with the view of securing and protecting its facilities in its franchise states.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Commandant, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army Benin, Brig, Gen, Ndahi, D. H., Ijose said, such partnership would enhance the effective service delivery to its areas of coverage.

According to Ijose, his visit to the command with his management team was to familiarize themselves with the command and seek collaboration in protecting the personnel and assets of the company in its franchise states,

Ijose continued by saying, the visit was also geared towards appreciating the robust working relationship between the command and BEDC, especially the former swift response to a request for his men to work around our infrastructure.

The MD/CEO decried the alarming increase in vandalism and Energy theft in the Disco’s network, while calling on the command to assist in the protection of BEDC’s installations in other to enable work go on effectively.

He further reiterated his committment to collaborate with the command and other agencies to curb these naferious activities by hoodlums, thereby, nipping the scenario in the bud.

On the issue of epileptic power supply being experienced lately, Ijose said it wasn’t peculiar to Edo State, adding that out of the 4000 megawatts being generated from the national grid, Benin Disco was allocated nine percent to be distributed to its four franchise states.

Sequel to this scenario Ijose said, the company has embarked on public enlightenment to get the public informed.

In a related development and as part of his familiarisation with key stakeholders in the Disco’s network, Mr Ijose and his team paid two courtesy visits to the state commissioner of police, Mr Mohammed Dankwara and the State Director of State Services (DSS ), Barr. M.E. Ernest in their office in Benin.

According to Ijose who extolled the sterling qualities and leadership style of the duo, vis-a-vis their steadfastness in making Edo state a safe state to be, and their continuous support in protecting the personnel and assets of BEDC, appealed for more collaboration and mutual relationship between the Police, DSS and BEDC.

The MD appreciated the security chiefs for effective electricity bill payment while soliciting their support by raising their monthly bill payment.

Responding, the Police Commissioner, thanked Ijose and his team for the visit and promised to maintain the mutual relationship that has existed over the years.

The Police Boss however, assured his readiness to work assidiously with his officers and men in assisting BEDC through effective collaboration.

The Director of State Services, assured her willingness to assist the company through intelligence gathering and execution.
