A video where a fish is being placed on a child’s head with prayers made in Yoruba language has surfaced online and it has got social media users talking.
In the video which is currently trending on Instagram, a Yoruba traditional rite called “Ibori” is being done on an infant and it is believed that when a child undergoes this rite, offertory is made to his creator and his path in life is dedicated and decided by his maker.
Since the video emerged online, many people think it is rather too obsolete and archaic to perform such rites while others questioned the marks on the cheeks of the baby.
