Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked Kwapre, a community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing 10 vigilantes.
The gunmen stormed Kwapre in large numbers, overpowering the local security guards and leaving many others seriously wounded.
Kwapre has been attacked several times by Boko Haram elements in recent months, with the latest onslaught occurring on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The district head of Dugwaba, Simon Yakubu, expressed anguish over the recurring attacks, stating that this would be the fifth assault on villages around Kwapre within the past two weeks.
The frequency and ferocity of the raids, the sophistication of the attackers’ weaponry, and their sheer numbers have left the local people defenseless.
Some vigilantes were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Hong for medical attention, while others are fighting for their lives.
