Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface will miss the remainder of the year due to a muscle fibre tear in his thigh.
Truth Live News can confirm that the injury occurred during Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Rwanda on Monday.
The 23-year-old has not participated in training with his Bayer Leverkusen teammates since returning to Germany.
Although Boniface is expected to make a full recovery, he will not return to action until early next year.
This is not Boniface’s first injury setback, as last season, he was sidelined for approximately three months due to an adductor injury.
Boniface, despite this, has had a successful season, scoring eight goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen.
