In a significant development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, over allegations of Naira abuse.
Truth Live News gathered that President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu directed EFCC Chairman Olanipekun Olukoyede to “do your job without fear or favour” when approached about the petition against Senator Okpebholo. Despite Okpebholo’s prominent position within the APC and his candidacy in the upcoming Edo State elections, the President emphasized the need for impartiality in handling the case.
The senator who is alleged to be running from pillar to post seeking for how to use political means to influence the anti graft agency is said to be in a terrible state at the receipt of the news of his invitation and is currently en route to Benin set to consult with his political godfather, Comrade Adams Oshiomole. Oshiomole has reportedly assured Okpebholo that he can leverage his influence to persuade President Tinubu to dismiss the case.
