After a long wait, the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as the governorship election of Osun State held on Saturday.
Truthlive.net had earlier reported that Adeleke won in 17 local government areas including Olorunda, Ede South, Orolu, Osogbo, Odo Otin, Ifelodun, Atakumosa, and Ila, while Governor Oyetola won the remaining 13 Local government Areas.
Adeleke beat Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress with 403,371 votes to 375,027 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Officer in Osun, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who on Sunday morning announced Adeleke of the People Democratic Party the winner of the just concluded governorship election in the state informed that the candidate fulfilled all the constitutional electoral requirements
He announced that Adeleke emerged the winner of 17 LGA in the state while Oyetola wins the remaining 13 states.
Ogundipe, who is also the Vice -Chancellor, University of Lagos, mentioned that the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 375,027votes, while thePeoples Democratic Party (PDP ) had 403,371 votes in the state.
