In an official communication dated November 20, 2023, the Government of Rivers State of Nigeria, through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, has announced the immediate posting of senior officers within the state.
Emeka Amadi, holding the position of Clerk at the Rivers State House of Assembly, has been reassigned. Georgewill Otto, currently serving as Assistant Director in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, is also among those affected. Calistus Offrika, Deputy Clerk/Head of Department in the Legislative Department of the Rivers State House of Assembly, is slated for a new role.
Truth Live News gathered that the urgent reshuffling is not unrelated to the power play between the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and Governor Sim Fubara his successor. Despite several efforts to bridge the political chasm, the recent activities prove otherwise.
The reshuffling places Emeka Amadi at the Rivers State Small Town and Rural Water Supply Agency, Georgewill Otto at the Scholarship Board, and Calistus Offrika at the Readers Project. The directive emphasized the immediate nature of the posting, with all officers instructed to conclude handing-over formalities upon receiving the letter. Notably, the Clerk and Deputy Clerk are to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective departments.
Dr. (Mrs.) Inying I. Brown, the Director of Service Welfare, signed the announcement on behalf of the Head of Service.
