A governoship aspirant under the umbrella of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Murtala Ajaka was on Saturday attacked by some unknown gunmen.
Muri as he is popularly known was an aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC) but later dumped the party for SDP shortly after he lost the APC primaries.
A Facebook user Echu Moses Sensibleman shared a photo of Muri’s car with gunshots bullet’s mark.
According to him, he was shot somewhere in Kogi state.
Meanwhile, another Facebook user Opaluwa Ugbede Omera who was part of the convoy and shared on the spot video of the attack alleged that the attackers were thugs sent by the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello.
Earlier, Muri had paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Koton-Karfi local government, the Ohimege Igu Koton-Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto.
According to him, the attackers first attacked two vehicles while the other thugs went ahead to block their convoy from entering Lokoja, the capital city of Kogi state.
As of the time of filing in this report, the number of casualties are yet to be ascertained.
