The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Alex Otti as the winner of the Abia State governorship election.
The Labour Party Candidate, Otti polled 175,467 votes winning 10 out of 17 Local Government Areas in the state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ahiwe who was the closest polled 88,529 votes winning six out of 17 Local Government Areas.
Nwafor of the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled 28,972 voted to come third in the gubernatorial election.
The INEC returning officer of the state, Prof Nnenna Nnannaya-Oti declared Otti the winner on Wednesday evening.
She said, “That Otti Alex Chioma of Labour Party having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner of the election.”
