Kaduna, Nigeria
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) announced that a Kaduna-bound train originating from Abuja was forced to return due to vandalized tracks near the Asham Railway Station in Kaduna State. In a statement by Yakub Mahmood, the Deputy Director of Public Relations, the disruption was attributed to the removal of track-fastening clips by vandals.
Truth Live News gathered that despite the inconvenience, NRC ensured the safety of all passengers by redirecting the train back to Abuja and confirming the validity of affected tickets for future journeys within two weeks. NRC reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and operational efficiency while assuring the public of comprehensive measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Consequently, the first train service from Kaduna to Abuja scheduled for Thursday morning was canceled, while other services remained unaffected. The NRC expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and appreciated passengers’ understanding and patience during this time.
This is hot on the heels of a recent vandalism on the second Niger Bridge which was just been recently completed.
