Fresh details have emerged revealing a renewed attempt to recall the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, from the Senate.

Leaked documents obtained exclusively by Truth Live News on Saturday evening indicate that a second petition is in the works, just months after the first failed attempt was dismissed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The controversial move comes on the heels of INEC’s earlier decision to reject the initial recall petition, citing that it did not meet the constitutional requirements as provided in Section 69(a) of the 1999 Constitution. The section explicitly outlines the legal thresholds that must be satisfied for any recall process to proceed—requirements the first petition reportedly failed to meet.

However, the newly leaked documents show an intensified effort by some politically influential individuals to revive the process. The materials include what appears to be fresh signatures and names gathered from across the senatorial district in a bid to meet the constitutional benchmark and restart the process formally.

Sources close to the matter said the campaigners are allegedly mobilizing local communities, market leaders, and youth groups in an effort to build momentum and credibility for the second petition. The documents also suggest coordination among political actors in the state, although no names have been officially linked to the renewed effort.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who has remained vocal on national issues, is yet to issue a formal response to the revelations.

As of press time, INEC has not made an official statement regarding the leaked documents or any ongoing preparations for a second recall petition. Nonetheless, all eyes will be on the commission should a formal submission be made.
