Legendary musician, producer and entertainment titan Quincy Jones has died at the age of 91.

A statement shared by Mr Jones’ publicist confirmed the sad news on Monday evening, with his family saying there would “never be another like him”.

“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” the statement read.

“Although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

Mr Jones’ publicist, Arnold Robinson, added the 91-year-old had died on Sunday night, local time, at his Los Angeles home, surrounded by family.

The titan of American music and entertainment was known for producing iconic records, including Michael Jackson’s Thriller, as well as a host of collaborations with star artists such as Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin.

He was also a remarkable composer and musician in his own right, creating themes for hit films and television shows and receiving a total of 80 Grammy award nominations – the third most of all time.
