Nigeria-born woman, Kemi Badenoch, and six candidates made it to the second stage in the race to succeed the resigned British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Both Kemi Badenoch and Suella Braverman made it through the round, receiving 40 and 32 votes respectively, and will be in the next ballot tomorrow.
According to dailymail.co.uk, the result came hours after a bombshell survey found trade minister Ms Mordaunt – who initially appeared an outsider – would defeat any competitor in a run off.
After being eliminated, Mr Hunt tweeted: ‘I want to thank my incredible team of loyal and talented supporters who put their faith in me. It’s become obvious to me you only get one big shot at this, and I had mine in 2019.’
