The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially backed Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State. This endorsement follows a crucial meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt, where NWC members praised Governor Fubara’s leadership and celebrated a recent court victory.

The court ruling nullified the disputed PDP congresses in the state, which had led to the emergence of Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron. In response, Hon. Robinson Nname Ewor was appointed as the acting chairman of the party.

According to PDP National Treasurer Ahmed Yayari Mohammed, the visit was part of efforts to reunite the party and strategize for a comeback in 2027. Mohammed emphasized the party’s commitment to unity, stability, and repositioning under Governor Fubara’s leadership.

The NWC also reaffirmed its support for Sir Ude Okoye, whose position as National Secretary was reinstated by the Court of Appeal. Mohammed called for continued support from governors and stakeholders, stating that no legal obstacles exist to challenge Okoye’s role.
