The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba has directed that the Commissioner of Police on election duty in Adamawa State, Mohammed Barde be immediately withdrawn from the state.

This was disclosed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.

The IG also ordered the
CP in charge of Gombe State, Etim Equa to with immediate effect move to Adamawa state to ensure adequate security after the controversies surrounding the declaration of the state supplementary governoship election.

Recall that Truth Live News had reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had voided the declaration of Aisha Binani as governor-elect and directed that the collation of results be put on hold.

INEC officials later reconvened at the collation center in Yola the Adamawa state capital amid tight security.

Meanwhile, INEC’ Administrative Secretary in the state, Adamu Gujungu, was mandated to take the place of the erring Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari.
