The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Mr. Ajisafe Toyese from Osun State as the National Vice Chairman for the South-West region, following the untimely death of Mr. Soji Adagunodo on May 20, 2023. The National Working Committee (NWC) ratified Toyese’s appointment during a meeting of the South West Zonal caucus, in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Truth Live News gathered that the announcement, made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, highlighted Toyese’s dedication and past contributions. He is recognized as a loyal party member who played a significant role in the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, serving as both a lawyer and an engineer.
Additionally, Toyese served as the Deputy Director General of the 2023 PDP Presidential Campaign council, showcasing his commitment to the party’s success.
The party expressed pride in Toyese’s past achievements, emphasizing his role in mobilizing support for the party at various levels. His experience includes serving as the Deputy Chairman of Gov. Ademola Adeleke’s Campaign Committee, Deputy Director General of the Atiku/Okowa Campaign Committee, and participating as a National Delegate in PDP Conventions.
The appointment, sanctioned by the party’s Working Committee on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), aims to fill the void left by Mr. Soji Adagunodo and aligns with the provisions of Section 46 of the party’s constitution, amended in 2017.
Ologunagba urged Toyese to leverage his new position to further unite, galvanize, and energize the party in the South West Zone. The party looks to him to collaborate with other leaders, ensuring the continued success and growth of the PDP in the region.
Ajisafe Toyese’s appointment as the National Vice Chairman for the South West region signifies a strategic move by the PDP to strengthen its leadership following the unfortunate passing of Mr. Soji Adagunodo.
