The Plateau State election petition tribunal sitting in Jos, has upheld Caleb Mannanseh Mutfwang’s election as the Governor of Plateau State under the PDP, while rejecting Dr. Nentawe Yilwada Goshwe’s petition from the APC.
Dr. Nentawe had contested Mutfwang’s qualification to run in the election, claiming that the PDP had no valid structure at the time. Nonetheless, the Tribunal dismissed the petition, deeming it without merit in its Friday judgment.
INEC Returning Officer for the Plateau State Governoship election, Prof. Idris Amali, deputy vice Chancellor, Federal University Lafia, had declared on the 20th of March 2023, that the candidate of the PDP scored 525, 299 to beat Dr. Nentawe Yilwada of the ruling APC who scored 481, 370.
All Applications in the Governoship Election Petition Tribunal Plateau State in EPT/PL/GOV/03/2023 between Dr. Nentawe Yilwada Goshwe, APC against INEC, Caleb Mutfwang, PDP had been taken and verdict reserved till today 22nd September 2023.
