ABUJA, NIGERIA – Mrs Unoma Godswill Akpabio has initiated legal action against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, seeking the enforcement of her fundamental rights.
Court documents obtained by our reporters show that Akpabio filed an Originating Motion on Notice at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, alleging a violation of her dignity as a human being.
The suit, numbered CV/814/25, is based on Section 34(1)(a) of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended), Articles 4 and 5 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, and Section 14 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015.
Akpabio contends that the actions of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan have infringed upon her rights, necessitating legal intervention.

In a related development, Akpabio has also secured a Writ of Summons (Suit No. CV/816/25) from the same court, directing Akpoti-Uduaghan to appear in court within 14 days to respond to the claims.
