In an unexpected and intriguing turn of events, Muritala, the gubernatorial candidate of the SDP, commonly known as Muri, paid a visit to Hon Leke Abejide, the ADC gubernatorial candidate. These two candidates are arguably among the top four contenders in the gubernatorial race and hail from two of the state’s three senatorial zones. Hon Abejide has served twice in the House of Representatives, while Muri hails from the most densely populated region of the state, Igala land.
This development has the potential to significantly influence the upcoming Kogi elections, scheduled for next month. However, it’s worth noting that the incumbent power of the APC governor and the strong support from his fellow kinsmen could prove to be formidable obstacles to overcome, especially considering that the PDP candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, also hails from the same senatorial zone as Hon Abejide.
Also present was Dr. Omede Idris, the Deputy Gubernatorial candidate of ADC and former commissioner of Health to buttress the strength of the ground shaking alliance.
