The British Council in Nigeria has announced a second fee increase for the English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination within a span of five months.

The council revealed this update through an official statement on its website, specifying that the revised fees of N139,000 for both computer academic and general training modules will come into effect from February 1, 2024.

The decision to adjust the fees was explained by the British Council as a response to the escalating costs associated with conducting the examinations.

In the statement, they noted, “We would like to inform you that our IELTS fees have been reviewed. The new price list of the IELTS range of tests offered by the British Council will be effective for registrations on or after February 1, 2024.”

This recent fee modification follows a prior adjustment just five months earlier in September 2023, when the examination fee increased from the initial range of N80,000 to N90,000 to the current fee of N107,500.
