Mr. Ben Llewellyn-Jones OBE, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, has pledged to work with the Rivers State Government to support economic growth in the state through a variety of commercial investment and wealth-creation projects.
Shortly after leading a group of the British High Commission from Lagos on a visit to the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Mr. Llewellyn-Jones OBE revealed this in a press conference signed by his SSA on Media, Boniface Onyedi.

He claimed that the purpose of the meeting with the governor was to inform him about British companies’ plans to increase their business development and investment opportunities. The goal is to raise the standard of public services, provide security, produce employment opportunities, and promote economic expansion.
Mr. Llewellyn-Jones noted that the goal of the effort was to improve and strengthen ties of diplomacy between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
He also noted that although there are currently a large number of British businesses operating in the country and boosting its economy, it was important to examine and look for favorable circumstances to increase the number of bilateral commercial prospects.
